Stylespiration: trench coat by Erdem
Now term has started, SSL will be regularly updated so we can procrastinate from our studies and help you do so too! We will have a weekly post called stylespiration where we will share a beautiful bank breaker. The items will be ones we'd only be able to afford when we finish our studies and are earning pounds only a first class honours can get. The idea is to inspire you to work hard on your studies throughout the week in the hope that it will get you to a place in life where couture is your Primark!
We start the series with this Erdem trench, which has made us feel a lot better about the London weather at the moment. Trench coats are an obvious London essential but this thing of beauty will only be accessible to a few. Law students, we urge you to look at this masterpiece and be inspired, when you are making your mega bucks, purchasing this will feel like how we felt walking into H&M earlier and buying a £30 equivalent.
We adore the colour of this trench and yearn to wear it with our chelsea boots tomorrow when we brave the first 10am start. The lace detail is something we'd pay thousands for (if it hadn't just gone on our rent) because it makes this trench both elegant and sexy. In fact, if we had this trench we'd hope the rain was pouring down every day and perhaps contemplate doing a MA up north!
But if you can't wait until you're an employed graduate, we have good news for you.
Topshop currently has 20% off for students so there is an opportunity for you to find something to keep you warm and dry this week at a discounted price. We've picked out two trench coats online to get you started:
The first A-line belted trench is very flattering and we're envisioning the stone colour will look extremely chic with black leather trousers (also rain-proof). There's already a leather collar on our second pick so putting this on top of any outfit will give you style in the rain.
All three of these trenches will cheer you up on a rainy day; just don't forget your umbrellas!
